Chicken Round-up

I haven’t posted because I’ve been moving. This will be a short one.
I have a new walk to work now which is considerably shorter. As I walked into the Driftwood parking lot this morning, Doug was there with his cherry red hot rod car. Lorne was there, ready to do landscaping by the look of the back of his truck, and who do I see but Barb Grimmer with a butterfly net in hand.
She is on chicken-round up duty. Yesterday our local RCMP officer pulled up to our office and radioed in to ask how to catch a chicken. There was a black heirloom hen that escaped Barb’s truck during transport and she’s been roaming around the Driftwood, having a marvelous time. We’ve seen her socializing with the stray cats, clucking at the confused cars and even paying a quick visit to the gym.
According to Barb, henny penny is a fast sucker as she’s avoided the net several times.
Another sunny day on Pender. Pictures and updates of the cottage are coming!

They say a picture paints a thousand words. Well, your words paint a gallery of pictures which I enjoy immensely. Please tell Barb she has a lovely hen.

hehe. The first time reading this I thought the “she’s been roaming around the Driftwood…” sentence was referring to Barb still. It’s very amusing read that way.
