Marc and I were given a Greenhouse, for which we are grateful. This green house was huge, much too big to fit on a pick-up truck. We could not have moved this greenhouse if it wasn’t for the extraordinairy efforts of our Neighbours.

As it was, we borrowed a car trailer from Tony, our illustrious mechanic who fixes our car for cookies, and Ron! Thank you!

They got it to the bottom of the driveway. Our driveway is looooong! And lumpy. I begged, pleaded, coerced and bribed my friends, and they showed up just in time to move this greenhouse to where we wanted it.

After a genius idea, thank you Theresa, some grunt work, Thank you Tilly, Keith and Tim, we managed to get this greenhouse exactly where we want it.

To thank these generous Neighbourly Neighbours of mine, I made sure they’d want to help me again!

Cinnamon buns are worth more than a thousand flowers. Until you eat them all, I suppose.

I’ve been really blessed in my life with friends around me that are willing to put up with crazy requests like moving a greenhouse, moving bees, moving in general. To my amazement, my friends seem willing to help me! How do I get so lucky?

I realized after moving the Greenhouse that my neighbours are not only those who live next door. Though they are nice too. My neighbours are the people around me in my daily life. My co-workers, my cashier at Tru-Value, the RCMP. (tee hee) Building comraderie and community is what it’s all about.

Last weekend, Marc and I went for a walk and ran into a lovely guy who is building a straw-bale house. He took 3 hours out of his day to explain his building techniques and how a straw bale houses are energy-efficient, self-sustaining way of building. He did this because he believes in community, he believes it’s important to take time out of a schedule to have conversations and relate to his neighbours. I applaude, I agree, pick me! Pick me!

What community do you have near you, dear reader? How do you benefit from this? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts! I believe this is one of the most fundemental aspects of our lives. For me, this is one of the most important priorities. Without my community, my neighbours, I would still be Greenhouse-less! Thank you!
