I am Amanda, 28 years old, married for 4 1/2 years.  I was raised in a loving home with two brothers, my parents, a series of fish, whatever birds we adopted and temporarily a bunny. I homeschooled from age 9 until graduation.

I moved to a small surfing town when I was supposed to be doing university. My post-secondary education consisted of working poorly paying jobs, learning how to pay rent, bills, and cook Kraft Dinner. I learned how chaotic my life can be when I do not employ the word “No.”

Then I travelled for two years. I realized I love airplanes, meeting people, learning languages, and earplugs. During that exploration of my own limits, I saw New Zealand, Cook Islands, Scotland, England, France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The latter was most difficult to find.

Now I’m living on a tiny island of 2500 people. There are no traffic lights, no Wal-Marts, no Blockbusters and no Starbucks. I am trying on farming for a change. Beekeeping, gardening, shepherding, baking, cooking, knitting, preserving, sailing and sewing.

I hope to invoke curiousity, compassion and connect you with my tiny world. If you have any questions or further comments, feel free to email me at amandaasabee (at) gmail (dot) com

Enjoy,
Manda xo
